Our Story
In 1933, soon after the Harlingen Municipal Auditorium was built, the Rio Grande Valley Civic Music Association formed to bring top-notch entertainment to the area.
Through the years, the Association has presented world-famous artists including Paul Robeson, the Von Trapp Family Singers, Mitch Miller, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, and Guy Lombardo. On January 22, 1941, Sergei Rachmaninoff performed at the Harlingen Municipal Auditorium. Jan Peerce graced the stage in 1945, and the legendary Heifetz performed with his 1731 Stradivarius and 1742 Guarnerius violins.
Who We Are
The Rio Grande Valley Civic Music Association became the Harlingen Community Concert Association in the 1960s, and is now the Harlingen Concert Association (HCA). We are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization with a dedicated 28-person board of directors committed to bringing world-class entertainment to the Rio Grande Valley.

The Harlingen Concert Association is committed to presenting exceptional, world-class artists at affordable, family-friendly prices. In partnership with Live On Stage in Nashville, Tennessee, we strive to bring nationally and internationally acclaimed performers to the Rio Grande Valley, enriching our community through the power of live entertainment.
Educational Outreach
HCA provides free educational outreach programs for local students. Before each evening performance, artists offer master classes for orchestra and band students, and mini-concerts in school cafeterias and performing arts centers. These programs are made possible by our generous sponsors at no cost to students or schools.
